We want to be able to change item status from the Circulation / Shelve Items screen. Now that we are random shelving, after a shelf is scanned we go into Shelve Items and check to make sure the books are all available. If a book is still listed as "Out" or "Waiting for Inspection" we have to go into Catalog to change the item status. Being able to do this from the Shelve Items screen would be much quicker.
In the circulation module - batch checkin - add a counter to count the number of books scanned to a specific shelf.
I suggest you...Add Patron Status as well as Status Date to the Amnesty Selection Criteria. This would allow libraries to pinpoint patrons who are Deceased, Withdrawn, or Canceled for a specific period of time instead of mass deleting books for everyone who have materials out for a specified period of time.
Add the acquisition method field to the batch add item program to indicate in-house produced (purchased) digital cartridges.
Ability to prioritize turnaround shelving so available books are selected from ranked turnaround shelving. That would enable circulation staff to get the best selection from most convenient located turnaround shelving.
A minus/delete or undo button in Batch Add Items - if you mistakenly transpose numbers or add 4 copies, but received only 3 when entering new books
KLAS will currently allow the library to block renewal of a book if there are existing requests and/or reserves. What about having options to block renewals if there are reserves, but allow renewal if there are only requests? What about having options to block renewals if there are reserves, but allow renewal if there are only requests? Also, an option to block renewals if there are reserves or requests if there are no other copies available (if the renewal is keeping others from getting the book, that's one thing-- if there are other copies that could be used, then that's a different situation.)
